Start Your Engines...

P-Diddy's first Pinewood Derby race yesterday (Saturday). I'll just start from the beginning.
Last Thursday I called a friend up to help get his block of wood carved out in the shape he wants it to be. Done. Then Friday after work I headed to the local craft store to pick up some paint and see what else they had. i.e. graphite and super glue etc.
Found out they had a little section for pinewood derby stuff so purchased weights and stickers along with the other stuff I needed. P-Diddy painted his car Red, White & Blue.
Saturday morning, P-Diddy quickly awakened and put his stickers on and hammered on his wheels. The finishing touch was the weights. It weighed in 5 oz. Perfect.
Race begins and Car #25 takes 1st in his first race. That's our car, Team America. Next race that he is in, Car #25 takes 1st place. 2 in a row, that is sweet. Peyton is smiling from ear to ear. 3rd race that he is in, Car #25 takes 1st place. Wow maybe his car is one of the fastest there.
4th race, Last race before the playoffs or finals or whatever they call it. Car #25 takes 1st place. There is only one other car that took first in all 4 races. P-Diddy is in the finals!!!
This is going to be the true test of how fast his car is. Out of 27 cars he is in the final 8. First race he took 2nd. Then the 2nd race he took 2nd again. Not bad. 3rd race he takes 3rd place. Not looking so good for that 1st place finish.
Last race he takes 1st place. he was excited but it wasn't enough to put him at the top. There was one car that couldn't lose. In the end though, Car #25 took 4th place overall. Not bad for a first timer. He had a great time and got a Pinewood Derby patch and a certificate.
Picture will be posted later.
Congrats P-Diddy on your 4th place finish!

Didn't you forget to make your car one year and just put on the tires? I think it still beat mine...
